After upgrading a lot of the outdated computer equipment here, we didn’t know what to do with the old stuff.  They really didn’t work anymore but we still felt bad just throwing it away.  I can’t remember how we heard about the Blind Center of Nevada but they are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that repurposes or recycles electronics for residential and business customers.  The nice thing is that they pick up the stuff for business donations and provide secure data destruction of all the hard drives of donated computers.  They were extremely professional in setting up an appointment for pick-up and the 2 guys that came were in uniform and very courteous.  According to their website:

The Blind Center takes unwanted computers and electronics, refurbishes them and then sells them – or individual parts- on ebay.  All proceeds support our nonprofit operation dedicated to providing employment to the visually impaired.
