There is a new toothbrush coming to market next month that boasts a Bluetooth connection to your smartphone. This manual toothbrush has internal sensors that will track when you are brushing, provide timers, and keep track of your brushing habits. According to the makers, users can send accumulated brushing data to their dentist for review during your regular visits.
It seems like it was only a matter of time before this came out. Personally, I don’t see this helping with compliance over time any more than a standard electric toothbrush. What I do see are more smartphones with water damage. That said, if it gets people brushing smarter, I’m all for it.
