Last Friday and Saturday Doc took me to her implant class at the UNLV School of Dental Medicine where I got to assist on dental implant surgeries on live patients. The class had a total of 10 surgeries and Doc & I got to do 4 of them. Luckily I just had to sit back and assist, Doc actually had to get up in front of the class and present each case for the group. This was the first time I ever assisted on an implant case. I was super nervous all week but once we got started it was so exciting and all the nerves went away. The instructors did a great job explaining everything so I was able understand every step we did and why it needed to be done. The patients were all so nice and thankful for being chosen to get these implants that it made the whole experience even better. Turns out placing implants is way less complicated than I initially imagined. Can’t wait to start doing these at Dee for Dentist.
